How to find UGC references
Identify UGC that creates trust without looking like a scripted ad.
UGC references should first be evaluated by speech and situation. They often work best when problem, real usage, and a short reaction appear before a direct product claim. If the creator feels like they are reading brand copy, the advantage of UGC drops. Also look for comparison shots or questions that invite comments.
Find why it does not feel like an ad
UGC references are shaped by situation more than equipment. Where the product appears, how naturally the creator speaks, and whether the usage moment matches a real problem all affect trust. If the piece feels like someone reading brand copy, the advantage of UGC disappears.
A strong UGC flow
Look for problem, use, short reaction, and comparison or recommendation reason. Testimonial-style UGC becomes more credible when it uses a specific situation rather than broad praise. Questions and comparison shots that invite comments are also useful signals.
Apply it to your brand
Do not copy UGC language directly. Find what your real customer would plausibly say and adapt the structure into that voice. Save both the trust-building element and the awkward element so the team knows what to use and what to avoid.
